Our Story

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Talia's Teddies Childminding opened its doors in early 2018, created with love by Talia  who wanted to offer something special—a place where children feel truly cared for and supported. Over time, our little setting has grown, and we’ve been lucky to welcome a team of kind, passionate childcare professionals who share the same vision.

We believe in creating a warm, welcoming space where children feel secure and free to explore. Our approach is all about listening to and following the children’s interests, allowing them to grow at their own pace while building important life skills. We teach kindness, respect, and how to care for all living things, helping children develop not just skills, but a strong sense of compassion.

What makes us different is how we blend the best aspects of childcare—structured routines and social time like in nurseries, the close relationships and individual care like in nannying, and the home-from-home comfort and safety that childminders provide. At Talia’s Teddies, we strive to create a place where every child feels special, valued, and supported in their journey of growing up.

About the setting

Our setting is based in a 5-bedroom house, on Thornton Road,  not far from the lovely Parks near Clapham Common and Tooting Common.

The children have a playroom, kitchen/dining room, Sensory room, reading room and garden for their use. The playroom has been designed to support the children's development and grow their imagination. The children can join role plays and practise their gross motor skills. The dining area has been designed to free the children's minds when joining arts and crafts, messy play and cooking activities.

We have a lovely garden full of exciting activities. Sandpit, muddy kitchen and water plays are just a few of them! During warm months we have gardening sessions with the children to teach them about the importance of care and all life around us. We are keen to take children to play outside every day.
The sensory room is our best project. It gives children the opportunity to learn how to manage their emotions, but also to explore the world around them and learn about different materials, and how to use their senses. We will also be using aromatherapy in this room.

' I have been working with the children since I was 21 and I cannot imagine working anywhere else. I was always interested in children's psychology and development. Knowing that I am a big part in shaping little person is the best feeling.  Unconditional love that children can give you is worth everything.'

,I have been working with children for over 10 years. I started as a nanny for a few families and then moved on to work as an assistant for a childminder for another few years.

I would describe myself as a very caring, nurturing, loving, fun, and energetic person who is very easy to get along with. Working with children always makes me happy, and I couldn't imagine myself doing anything different. I thoroughly enjoy looking after children as I see it as such a rewarding job.,

'I make it a priority to be understanding, caring, supportive, patient, and empathetic in any situation, which are qualities I have developed over the years. With Talia’s teddies, I am able to bring different skill sets that are adoptable coming from a carer  background to now working with children, when It comes to caring after vulnerable individuals. The reason I wanted and like to work with children is that it fills me with joy to help them reach their full potential and feel happier and more confident about themselves.'
